Written Examination
WR
Two 3-hour written papers covering the full spectrum of paediatric surgical knowledge, including anatomy, embryology, pathology, clinical management, investigations, operative techniques, and recent literature. Each paper contains 4 questions with 5 subsections each.
Oral Examination
OR
Two oral examinations of 30-45 minutes each, testing candidates' clinical reasoning, communication skills, and depth of knowledge in paediatric surgical practice. Minimum 45% required in written papers to be invited.
Clinical Examination
CL
Practical examination consisting of a minimum of one long case and five short cases, testing clinical examination skills, patient management, and diagnostic reasoning in real paediatric surgical scenarios.
Spot Test
ST
A 15-station objective structured clinical examination testing rapid assessment, identification of clinical findings, imaging interpretation, and practical procedures in paediatric surgery.
