Primary Examination (FCS(SA) Primary)
PRIMARY
First stage of the fellowship examination covering basic urological sciences. No oral examination component.
Intermediate Examination
INTERMEDIATE
Second stage examination assessing clinical surgical knowledge and skills. Requires completion of Primary examination plus at least 12 months of approved surgical training.
Final Examination (FC Orth(SA) Final)
FINAL
Final fellowship certification examination. Requirements: Passed CMSA primary and intermediate exams (or reciprocal fellowship), minimum 48 months recognized orthopaedic surgical training in HPCSA accredited registrar post (consideration given to 36 months), portfolio of surgical cases, completed Work Based Assessment modules. The J M EDELSTEIN MEDAL is awarded to candidates showing very high proficiency.
